Zycus Interview Process

I applied at Zycus for the post of Software Engineer in person. The hiring process at Zycus consists of four rounds in total - Aptitude test, Group Discussion, Technical Interview and HR interview. The interview process took just two days.

Round 1 - Aptitude Test
The first round in the hiring process was the aptitude test. There were three distinct sections in the aptitude test - Puzzles and reasoning questions, English skill set test and technical questions. My English is not that good and thus I faced a bit of problem in that test but was able to score enough to get clear. The puzzles were easy and not much time taking. The technical questions were all very basic and easy.

Round 2 - Group Discussion
In the group discussion round, everybody was assigned a group. My group had six people in it and every one of them was a tough debater. The topic given was Increasing Crimes against Women. It was an expected topic and thus everybody seemed well prepared. There was a lot of discussion and even some heated arguments which was also expected. Four people out of my group including me were selected for the next round which was the technical interview.

Round 3 - Technical Interview
The technical interview lasted for about an hour. The interviewer began with the basic questions (too basic) and gradually increased the level of questions. The questions were good and moderately difficult. The pressure was not much as the interviewer was really nice and pretty professional with a lot of knowledge. Some of the questions asked to me:
Q1. Develop Application logic for creating an application like WinZip.
Q2. I was given a problem with image which was to be divided in 64 parts. I had to write a java algorithm so that it can be merged to form a single image again.

Round 4 - HR Interview
In the HR interview, I was questioned about the projects that I had done. There were some cross questions as well which were all based on the projects only. After that, I was asked about my strengths and weaknesses. Then I was asked why they should hire me and not someone else. After all that, an offer was made and there was no provision of negotiation. You can accept or reject the offer.

How to crack (get into) Zycus Interview

People at Zycus are quite professional. They know that they are hiring a fresher and they don't expect you to be a master mind. All they want to know is how serious you were during your studies which they can judge very well by your answers in the technical round. Also, they want those candidates who are serious for their career and are not just filling out the gaps.

But before the technical interview lays a group discussion which is an important round and will eliminate the ones who are just bookworms with loads of knowledge without actually being smart enough. So, you must perform and you must speak up in the GDs. They do eliminate many people in that round and thus you should start preparing.

For the technical round, they can ask you questions from anywhere but they won't be too difficult. Also, they will be willing to point you in the right direction if you are stuck anywhere while in a coding problem or anything like that. All they want is that you have enough knowledge and the will that they require.

Be prepared to answer some questions based on your resume in the HR interview. Be prepared with the questions based on your projects as well. The offer will be made after the HR round and sadly you can't negotiate if you are a fresher.

So, overall, the process is not difficult if you are a serious candidate with your basics clear and you have a smart approach towards things. My best wishes with all the candidates.

Thanks Anmol for sharing the details of your interview.
