There is no definite answer to this question. But there are two theories around this.

Left: If the left zebra was looking left or straight the inside part of the ears would not be visible. So the only direction that makes this possible if zebra is facing the camera.

A Middle Zebra: Another theory says that there is one more zebra in the middle and left and right zebras are looking straight.
