UnitedHealth Group Interview Process
I applied at UnitedHealth Group for the post of Software Engineer through a recruiter. The process took more than four weeks and I was interviewed at UnitedHealth Group. There were a total of three interviews in the hiring process of UnitedHealth Group.
Round 1 - Telephonic Interview
The first round was the telephonic interview. The interview lasted for about an hour and was a bit longer than I had expected. Although, the questions were fairly basic and the interviewer was nice. The interview began with me introducing myself in depth. I also answered some of the questions regarding myself being put up while I was telling about myself. After all that, the interviewer asked me about my past projects. Then, there were a lot of questions and cross questions regarding the same. After that, a few basic technical questions were asked and I was able to answer everything.
Round 2 - Manager Round
After the telephonic interview, I received a call from them and was told about my scheduled interview. The manager round is the only face to face technical round in the hiring process. It lasted for a bit more than one hour. The questions were usually asked from C++.
Q1. Differentiate between realloc() and free().
Q2. What is inheritance? What are the advantages?
Q3. Write a function to reverse a linked list.
As you can see, the questions were easy and tested just the basic knowledge. There were some questions on database structures and OS as well. But all of them were easy again. I was also given a coding problem which I was able to do without any problem.
Round 3 - HR Interview
After I made my impression in the previous round, I was sent for the HR interview.
Q1. Tell me something about yourself?
Q2. How is your experience so far with the hiring process?
Q3. Why should we select you for this job?
Q4. How will you help in the growth of the company?
Q5. What are your future plans?
These sort of questions were asked in this round.
How to crack UnitedHealth Group (get into) Interview
The overall interview process at UnitedHealth Group is pretty easy. Also, there are only three rounds out of which one is a basic HR interview. So, to crack the interview, you just have to study and get thorough with the basics. Only the basic knowledge of terms and basic coding problems will be given to you.
Starting with the first telephonic interview, you will have to talk a lot about yourself and your projects. This will be carried forward in the HR interview as well. So do prepare on what to speak and what not. Be confident while replying so that they can sense that you are a confident individual who will be perfect for their company.
The technical manager round is the only one where you will be asked actual technical questions. Prepare well for the C++ based questions and database related questions. If you know that, you can easily crack the technical round of UnitedHealth Group.
The process is comfortable and easy and you can easily crack the interview with the help of a little preparation. All the best for your interviews.
