Aricent Interview Process
I applied online for the post of Senior Test Engineer at Aricent. The process took about a week or more and then I was called regarding the interview at company. The hiring process at Aricent included three rounds - two technical rounds and one HR interview.
Round 1 - First Technical Round
The first technical round was easy I must say. Only the basic questions and basic concepts were asked by the interviewer. I was quite confident in the answers and thus the interviewer was quite impressed by me. I was asked to explain:
1. OSI layers of networking
2. Different types of QoS tools
4. Difference between policing and chapping.
If you are thorough with the basics, there should not be a problem answering these questions.
Round 2 - Second Technical Round
I expected this round to go into the advanced and tough level of technical questions. But it was quite the same as the previous round. Only the interviewer changed. The questions were again concentrated on the basic knowledge. Some questions that were asked to me in this interview:
Q1. What is differentiated service in QoS?
Q2. What is the difference between bandwidth and MTU?
Q3. TCL script to get o/p of show ip route and grep the ip and check if it is a class A, B or C IP.
Q4. TCL script to explain upvar and uplevel.
As you can see that the questions were a bit forward in difficulty level than the previous round but still they circled around the basics only. Again, I was able to answer all the questions and the interviewer was thus impressed.
Round 3 - HR Interview
The HR interview was nothing much unexpected. I was asked about my job in previous company and why I was ready to leave the job for joining their company. I had prepared these kind of answers beforehand only and thus I found no difficulty. It might have been a lucky day of mine that the entire process ended with ease.
PS: Do prepare on your resume. You will be asked questions on it in this HR interview. It will test your confidence level which is important for them.
How to crack (get into) Aricent Interview
The interview process at Aricent was easy for me. May be it was a lucky day for me. For sure it is possible that they asked questions which I knew. But anyhow, if you believe me or read the questions that I have written down in the process above, you will agree with one fact that the questions were related with the basic knowledge only. This means that you can crack the technical interview without much efforts.
Other than that, you will find the interviewers to be extremely nice. They won't be pressing you with any sort of pressure with tough or twisted questions. For the HR interview, other than preparing for the questions that I have mentioned, you have to get through with your resume as well. If they frame any question from there, you should be able to answer confidently.
You can negotiate the offer. I got a negotiation of 25 percent which gave me a suitable package. You can even negotiate for more if you desire. All the best for the interview.
