Sage North America Interview Process

I applied at Sage North America for the post of Software Engineer via a recruiter. The hiring process at Sage North America comprises of three rounds only - Technical Assessment, Telephonic Interview and a face to face interview. The process took three weeks.

Round 1- Technical Assessment
This technical assessment is to analyze your abilities with a certain tools that you will be required to work on if you are selected for the job profile. The test was done via email but the communication was great and the test was really nice. I did well and the team was impressed by my abilities.

Round 2- Telephonic Interview
After I was able to clear the technical assessment, they scheduled a telephonic interview for me. It went on for about half an hour. The questions were really basic. It began with the interviewers asking about myself and then the questions moved on to the projects that I had worked on. There were many cross questions when I started telling about my projects. Some questions were asked based on the technology that they are using in their company. The interview went really fine and the interviewer seemed highly professional.

Round 3- Face to Face Interview
After I got clear of the telephonic interview, I was called in the company for the personal interview. The interview began with the R & D head of the company. There were all sort of basic questions. He asked nothing technical and was only interested in knowing my future plans and my family details etcetera. After some time, another person joined him and he started explaining me the process through which every engineer their company goes through every day at job. We talked a bit of technical stuff and I liked it. Then two senior developers of the company joined in as well. They asked me technical questions related with data structures, arrays and all. I was also given a coding problem which I had to solve on the white board. Then, the manager took their place and he explained me everything about the company including some cross questions in between. The whole interview lasted for more than three hours and it was a bit tiring.

How to crack (get into) Sage North America Interview

The interview at Sage North America was easy one. Although the hiring process is a bit stretchy. Three weeks is a long time and the face to face interview is quite long. But the difficulty level is pretty average. If you are serious regarding your career, you will easily crack the interview.

The technical assessment is easy. You just have to give them enough proof that you will be able to work on their tools and you know the basics of development. After that, the telephonic interview will only judge your confidence and your background. If they think you fit in their requirement, they will call you for personal interview. I have given a detailed explanation of the personal interview. Just go through it to get the pointers.

The entire team was very nice and you won't feel any pressure on your head. Just go with the flow and stay confident about your knowledge and skills. All the best.

Thanks Anmol for sharing the details of your interview.

Maths Magic Riddle

I can prove why 1 = 2

Step1. Lets say y = x
Step2. Multiply through by x xy = x2
Step3. Subtract y2 from each side xy - y2 = x2 - y2
Step4. Factor each side y(x-y) = (x+y)(x-y)
Step5. Divide both sides by (x-y) y = x+y
Step6. Divide both sides by y y/y = x/y + y/y
Step7. And so... 1 = x/y + 1
Step8. Since x=y, x/y = 1 1 = 1 + 1
Step9. And so... 1 = 2
