Nokia Solutions and Networks Interview Process

I applied at Nokia Solutions and Networks for the post of Software Engineer via online application. I was then interviewed at Nokia Solutions and Networks. The hiring process at Nokia Solutions and Networks comprises of four rounds in total - Written Test, Group discussion Round, Technical Interview and HR Interview.

Round 1 - Written Test
The written test had aptitude questions, basic technical questions and language skills based questions. There was a time limit to complete the test and thus you must be quick in solving the questions. The test was not difficult but you need to be quick if you want to clear it and for that, you must have a bit of practice before you attempt it.

Round 2 - Group Discussion Round
The topic given in the Group Discussion Round was expected. It was women's safety and crimes against women. There were six people in my group and everyone had their own opinions. I did not like some opinions though and they were quite hateful. But anyhow, you are there for interview and not the upbringing of society. So speaking with relevant points with confidence is what helped here.

Round 3 - Technical Interview
There were many questions asked in this technical interview. Although the questions were basic in nature and nothing out of the box was asked. They know you are a fresher and they treat you like that. One unexpected question that was asked in this interview is:
Q1. How can you find a defective ball box from ten ball box when you have electronic weighing machine?
Rest of the questions were based on C and C++. Some questions based on data structures and DBMS were asked as well.

Round 4 - HR Interview
The HR interview is going to explore your resume. It starts with introduction and introduction of family. Then, your resume will be picked up and you will be asked all sort of questions based on that. So of you have mentioned any project, you better be thorough with it as you will be interrogated upon various things. Overall, the interview was really nice.

How to crack Nokia Solutions and Networks Interview

If I be true to you, then I will say that cracking Nokia Solutions and Networks is not a tough task. The interview process is quite easy and comfortable. They don't put you under stress or pressure which is a big plus point that will help you mentally and will keep your confidence attained.

For, written test as well as the technical interview, you just have to be firm with the basic knowledge of the basic concepts. Read and be thorugh with C++, data structures, OS and DBMS. Most of the questions were asked from these topics and if you know them, you will cast a good impression.

For the group discussion round, you must speak up and you must speak up relevant. There is no need to hesitate but there do is need to not over speak. For the HR interview, just prepare your resume and everything else will be the usual HR stuff.

Wish you all the best for your interview.

Difficult Brain Twister

A strange tradition is followed in an orthodox and undeveloped village. The chief of the village collects taxes from all the males of the village yearly. But it is the method of taking taxes that is interesting.

The taxes paid in the form of grains and every male should pay equal pounds corresponding to his age. In simpler terms, a man aged 10 years will have to pay 10 pounds of grains and a 20 years old will be paying 20 pounds of grain.

The chief stands on a riser containing 7 different weights next to a large 2 pan scale. As per the interesting custom, the chief can only weigh using three of the seven weights.

In such a scenario, can you calculate what must be the weights of the seven weights each and who is the oldest man the chief can measure using those weights?
