Newgen Software Interview Process

I applied at Newgen Software for the post of Software Engineer through my college/university. The process took a couple of days and then I was called for the interview at Newgen Software. The hiring process had four rounds in total excluding the campus presentation.

Round 1 - Written Test
This was a combined written test including aptitude as well as technical skills test. There were some basic aptitude related questions in the test that were easily done by me and were of basic difficulty level that can be cracked by anyone. There were questions testing the language (English). Be prepared if your English is not good. Although the test was not difficult, you must have Basic English knowledge. Then, there were the technical questions which covered all the areas but tested only the base.

Round 2 - Psychometric Test
This was quite as basic test in which the thought process was evaluated. I can't tell you the exact structure but you can rest assured as only a few candidates were eliminated in this round. It was easy and you can clear it without a problem.

Round 3 - Technical Interview
The technical round began with questions related with my resume. It was as if they are reading a line and questioning on that and then moving to the next line. They also inquired about the project that I had done and the questions revolved around it for a while. Then, there were some technical questions:
Q1. How will you develop an Online Question Paper such that it shows different questions to different users?
Q2. Which data structure is used by compiler to store local variables?
The questions were not very difficult and I had no pressure in the round. The interviewers were nice as well.

Round 4 - HR Interview
The HR interview had all sort of the usual questions. The interviewer asked me to tell her something about me which is the most difficult question in the HR interview for me. Of course answering questions about family, their profiles is comparatively easy. To my surprise, some general knowledge based questions were asked as well that also included current affairs.

How to crack (get into) Newgen Software Interview

The hiring process at Newgen Software is pretty simple and includes four different rounds to test your particular skills. The written test as I have told earlier as well had three sections. You can easily go through the technical and aptitude test. Work a bit on the Basic English if you have a problem with the language. This will enable you to clear the test easily.

The Psychometric test is only there to exclude the dumb persons. It evaluates the basic thought process of your and there should be no problem at all in clearing it. It is a random thing and so I can't point out at any topic.

The technical round will mostly revolve around your projects mentioned in your CV. Just try to impress them here and you are likely to get through this round. You will be asked 2-3 technical questions as well but they will be quite basic and likely to be based on your project only.

For the HR interview, just prepare the basic questions. But yes, go through the current affairs. It was totally unexpected but for some reason, they asked me them (regarding state and politics) and I was not quite good at that. So you must go through the top questions or just read Yahoo for a week probably so you don't stay in any sort of disadvantage.

The interview process is quite simple and easy as well. Prepare a bit and you will get through for sure. Last but not the least, my best wishes to all the candidates.
