Microland Interview Process
I applied online for the position of Senior Engineer at Microland. The process took more than a week and then I was interviewed at Microland. The entire process included three rounds - One telephonic round, one personal interview and one HR interview round.
Round 1 - Telephonic Round
The telephonic round was almost 45 minutes long. The interviewer asked me about my previous company and the kind of work/projects I did there. She had my resume already and thus questions were put up directly based on that. It seemed that she was thorough with the technical things and thus it was an enjoyable interview for me.
Round 2 - Personal Interview
You can expect all sort of technical questions in this round regarding your job profile. It was also a 45 minute round just like the telephonic round. I was able to answer most of the question asked from me accurately and so I was sent for the HR interview. Some questions:
Q1. Explain the routing protocols.
Q2. Explain the difficult situations faced while troubleshooting incidents.
Round 3 - HR Interview
The HR interview was nothing different from the usual stuff. It was human resources related with nothing technical asked (at least from me). There were some expected questions regarding my previous job and some related with the future plans.
Q1. Where do you see yourself in five years of time? What have you done so far to make it true?
How to crack (Get Into) Microland Interview
Since you are applying for the senior position, it is expected that you know the protocols and have gained enough experience in this profile. The telephonic interview, which is the base for you is all about that. If you have been consistent and have earned a nice reputation in your previous company, it is safe to assume that you are technically good. Thus you won't find any problem in clearing this round.
The personal interview is only moderately difficult. It is a long one though, just like the telephonic round. Thus have patience and sound confident till the end. Also, prepare for the basic interview questions that you can find on internet as well. Nothing out of the box was asked from me and so I am suggesting that to you.
The HR interview round is the most comfortable round. Since you have already given interviews, you can expect everything and it will be as per the expectations only. Seriously, nothing out of the usual design.
The company won't be paying much and thus the negotiation might not be fruitful. However, you must try your luck.
Thanks Anmol for sharing the details of your interview.
