Linedata Interview Process

I applied at Linedata for the position of Software Engineer through a recruiter. I was interviewed at Linedata in 2013 and the process took about two weeks. There were three rounds in the hiring process at Linedata - Telephonic Screening, Technical On-Site Interview and HR Interview.

Round 1 - Telephonic Screening
Telephonic Interview took place before everything. I was not expecting a call after a week but then I got it. So, the screening began with basic questions about me, my studies and my career. After that followed the resume based questions. A few questions on the projects mentioned were asked too. Following that were the questions that are typically expected in such screenings aimed at judging your thinking capabilities.

I received a call after two days that I was selected for the on-site interview.

Round 2 - On-Site Technical Interview
The technical interview lasted for an hour. It was strictly a technical interview. No other questions were asked and the interviewer was very professional about the whole interview. He didn't allow me to breathe. Some of the questions that were asked are given below:
Q1. Given a large array where the next item of the array is 2 more than its predecessor (example: 5,7,9,11,13,15 . . . ) write a function to locate the position in the array where the difference is not 2.
Q2. Write a pseudo-code and function to reverse a string.
Q3. Write a function that returns a string that is the sum of two integers denoted by strings. The point is that the numbers denoted by string would be larger than an int can hold. Example: string Sum(string valueOne, string valueTwo) { . . .}

Round 3 - HR Interview
HR Interview was more of a formality. Nothing much was asked in this round and the talk soon moved towards the discussion of package. The offer was less than expected and thus I negotiated and was able to increase it to a better suited figure. After I accepted the offer, I was briefed about my position and a bit about the company. I joined the company on the following week.

How to crack Linedata Interview

The interview process at Linedata is simple. The round that you need to prepare for is the technical round only. As far as the telephonic screening is concerned, they will just be verifying your details and your capabilities. Also, they will be checking how smart you are and how capable you are for the position in terms of mental ability and thinking process. This is something that is not technical and can be improved a bit with reading and mock screenings.

The technical interview is the one where you will be bombarded with questions and questions. For about an hour, you will be answering moderately difficult questions. So, you need to prepare for that. Data structures, queries, arrays and strings and a bit of language is what you need to focus the majorly on. Questions can come from anywhere.

The HR interview is merely a formality but an opportunity to negotiate as well. All the best for your interview.
