Fidessa Interview Process

I applied at Fidessa for the post of Software Developer through an online application. I was interviewed at Fidessa in 2013 and the entire process took five days. There was a telephonic screening, a coding test and two on-site interviews in the hiring process at Fidessa.

Round 1 - Telephonic Screening
The process began with a telephonic screening by the HR. I received a call and it started with a brief introduction. Then some other questions were asked about my life and studies. After that, a few technical questions which were very basic were asked. Then, I was told about the online coding test which I will have to take in order to proceed forward.

Round 2 - Coding Test
After the screening, I was given an online coding test. The coding test had to be completed in an hour and half. Since the time was not much, the code was also an easy one. I was able to complete the test before the time given. Therefore, if you are good in coding (basic ones), the time given is enough.

Round 3 - On-Site Interview
After the online test, I was called by the HR and my on-site interview was scheduled. This on-site interview was an easy one. The questions that were asked were basic ones and the interviewer was a nice person. He also briefed me about the company and the kind of person they are looking for. Some of the questions that were asked from me:
Q1. Find largest element in an array.
Q2. Determine from an integer number of unique integers (0, 1, 2, 3.. 9) in it.

Round 4 - Second-On-Site Interview
The second round was technical cum HR round. The questions that were asked were focused on data structures and algorithms majorly. The difficulty level was easy if you have studied seriously. After that, I as briefed about the responsibilities if I was hired. Some more explanation about the company was given.

I received a call from HR after three days and was told that I was selected. No negotiations were done and the package was good.

How to crack Fidessa Interview

AS far as my interview is concerned, I think that the hiring process was pretty smooth. The staff was good and there were no glitches in the process. The interviews were held on time and by a talented and intellectual person every time.

Talkinga bout the difficulty level, the questions that were asked were easy enough that you won't have to study in much details. Data structures, strings and array and algorithms were the areas that were prominent throughout. So study those well. Other than that, the interviewers were nice people.

No negotiation was done from my side and I don't know if that is possible or not. But they offered a good package so you won't have to worry about that much.

All the best for your interviews.

Thanks Anmol for sharing the details of your interview.

Maths Magic Riddle

I can prove why 1 = 2

Step1. Lets say y = x
Step2. Multiply through by x xy = x2
Step3. Subtract y2 from each side xy - y2 = x2 - y2
Step4. Factor each side y(x-y) = (x+y)(x-y)
Step5. Divide both sides by (x-y) y = x+y
Step6. Divide both sides by y y/y = x/y + y/y
Step7. And so... 1 = x/y + 1
Step8. Since x=y, x/y = 1 1 = 1 + 1
Step9. And so... 1 = 2
