Organization : Verizon Data Services
Position : Software Engineer
Verizon Data Services Interview Process
I applied through my college for the position of Software Engineer in Verizon Data Services. The process was fast and took only a couple of days. I was then called by them for the interview. There were four rounds in the hiring process and they were above the moderate level of difficulty.
Round 1 - Written Test
The written test consisted of four different sections that were meant to test different areas - verbal, mental, technical and analytical. There were a total of 75 questions that were to be answered in 90 minutes. The test was not difficult but it was not an easy cake as well. It took some hard efforts to score well. The clearing marks were adequate and the test can be cleared easily. But if you want to stand separate you will have to do many more questions.
Round 2 - Technical Interview
Nothing actually difficult was asked in the technical interview. I was rather feeling better than the written test as the interviewer was very friendly. I was asked some basic questions regarding database, networking, OS and strings and arrays majorly.
Q1. What is a bootstrap amplifier?
Q2. Design Xop gate.
Don't worry if you don't know the answer, or a code, just try to make an impression that you may not know the solution but you have a decent knowledge.
Round 3 - English Test
This Round was a nightmare. My English is alright but certainly not enough to sit confidently in front of people from the British council. I can't tell you how important this Round might be or if they are trying to judge only the confidence level and streamlined approach of a candidate or something else. But this Round was totally unexpected for me. I gave an average performance but I was called for the next Round as well.
Round 4 - HR Interview
This Round was a relief. But don't be too relaxed. What was unexpected was that I was asked some aptitude questions in this round. Guess they want to keep you on the edge every time. Other than that, the interviewer was nice and the HR related questions were all basic.
How to crack ( Get Into ) Verizon Data Services Interview
The Round for which you have to prepare the most if you are applying in Verizon Data Services is the English Test. Since there will be people from some British council, it might be hard to impress them. Like I said earlier as well, I don't know how important the Round is for the company but you shall always try to give your best.
If you are just aiming to clear the written test, it should not be a problem. But if you are aiming at scoring well, you will have a tough time. The technical interview is based up on all sort of basic technical questions. Just brush up with the basics before your interview and you will be good to go.
As for the HR interview, don't be surprised at the logical reasoning questions. I already told you, they might ask you that as well. Overall, the interview was slightly above the average difficulty level. Prepare hard if you want to crack it.
Thanks Anmol for sharing the details of your interview.
