Civica Interview Process
I applied at Civica for the position of Software Developer through an online application. I was interviewed at Civica in 2013 and the process took just a day. There were just two rounds in the hiring process at Civica. Both of them were on site interviews.
Round 1 - First Face to Face Interview
I received a call from the recruiter and my on-site interview was scheduled. This first interview lasted for about an hour and was taken by a senior from the development team. Since he was from the development area, the questions that were asked were from that area only. But before all that, there was a brief introduction of both myself and the interviewer. He asked some questions regarding my career and over some projects that I had mentioned in my resume back then.
After all that, the technical questions were asked which were of moderate difficulties. Most concentrated areas were database queries. Also, a modelling problem was given:
Q1. A set of business cards given, model it in terms of a software project.
Round 2 - Second Face to Face Interview
This second interview was taken by a senior from the testing department. Again, the interview lasted for about an hour. I was given a case study with some questions attached. I had to do it within the time limit. The time limit was the challenge. But if you know your work, you shall be able to boost yourself and get the job done within the time frame.
Don't worry if you get stuck anywhere. My interviewer was a great person who even helped me with hints after he acknowledged that I was worth the shot.
After that interview, I was offered the job on the spot. The package that they offered was pretty good and I did not deny it. No negotiations were done by me but that doesn't mean you can't as well.
How to crack Civica Interview
The foremost thing to say will be the fact that the hiring process at Civica is pretty short and streamlined. You get everything done in just a day. And I'm saying this when I was not on a referral and applied individually online.
This is a good thing about the company. They won't keep you waiting till your life. Whatever it is, you will get to know it within a day. That said, I found the staff to be really awesome. The people over there are very professional and I felt a good work environment there.
Coming towards the interviews, I would say that they are not difficult to crack but not as easy as it may seem as well. There are just two interviews but both judges you on your technical skills and thus you must be strong technically. The first is a development round. You should not face any problem in the modeling problem. Some other questions will be asked majorly concentrated on database queries.
The second round is the testing round. A case study is all you will get. There will be some questions which I can't evaluate on the terms of difficult as the difficulty level will definitely be a subjective matter.
So overall, the interview process is nice and my experience was good. Hope you share the same fate.
