Wireless Generation, Inc. Technologies Interview Process
I applied at Wireless Generation, Inc. for the post of Software Developer through a recruiter and was interviewed at Wireless Generation, Inc. I faced a telephonic interview, two technical interviews and a HR round in the hiring process. The process took about four weeks.
Round 1 - Telephonic Interview
I had to wait three weeks after talking with the recruiter. I had lost hope but finally got a call from the company and my telephonic interview began right away. The interviewer asked me about all necessary details regarding myself. Then, I was asked about the projects that I had completed back in time. Then a few technical questions were asked. Nothing difficult about it. Then I was scheduled for the on-site interviews.
Round 2 - First Technical Interview
Nothing formal was asked in this round and it started with the technical questions right away.
Q1. Differentiate between vector list and array list.
Q2. Write an algo for moving a night on a chessboard from a given position.
Q3. Write an algo to determine if the set of characters matches a given regex.
The thing that I noticed was that everything was disorganized and the interviewer did not seem fit to handle the interviews well. There was ill communication and the interviewer was not well versed.
Round 3 - Second Technical Interview
I was able to answer the questions in the previous round and I was called for the second technical round. Thankfully, this interviewer was better than the previous one. He even seemed more agile and talented. Some of the questions that were asked in this round:
Q1. If you want to process a million records in 2 seconds, how will you do it? Assume XML records.
Q2. Design a spellchecker.
Q3. For what purpose is has used?
Q4. Write an algo to determine if one set characters is contained in another set.
Q5. How to implement linked lists, hash maps and sets.
Round 4 - HR Interview
The HR round started with resume based questions. It was surprising that I was even asked a couple of logical reasoning questions. I don't know the purpose but it was surprising. Then there were the general HR questions which you must be knowing already. After the interview, the offer was made.
How to crack Wireless Generation, Inc. Interview
Like I said earlier as well, thing seemed un-organized in Wireless Generation, Inc. The company is expanding as far as I know and they are not able to accommodate the expansion properly. But I would say that the questions that were asked in the interviews were really good.
The telephonic round was basic and comprised of basic technical terms related questions. But both the technical interviews had some really good questions. If you have read the questions, you will know that you have to work hard on the algos as that is what was asked majorly. Other than that, focus on data structures and arrays. But apart from that, your basics should be really clear.
