Electronic Arts Interview Process

I applied at Electronic Arts for the post of Intern Software Engineer through my university. The hiring process at Electronic Arts encompasses four rounds in total - Written Aptitude Test, Technical Test, Technical Interview and HR Interview. The process of interview at electronic Arts took one day only.

Round 1- Aptitude Test
The written aptitude test was the first in the line. I was preparing for the aptitude test for about a month as I needed to pick up speed. That hard work came fruitful here when the questions were not difficult but the time given was not much. Here, you must be smart but you must be able to do it faster than many others to clear it. Except 3-4 questions, all were average and were easily done by me.

Round 2- Technical Test
The technical test was not as easy as the aptitude test. Although the questions were mostly comprising of the basic knowledge but they were extensively placed from various areas. Thus you should know everything basically. There were a few coding related problems as well in this round. Many students will be left out in this test for sure.

Round 3-Technical Interview
After you clear both the tests, then you will be sent to a technical interview with some high ranking official of the company. The questions were direct and some were even unexpected and surprising. I am mentioning here a few questions so you get a basic idea:
Q1. Do you buy pirated games of Electronic Arts?
This question caught me unaware literally. So do expect such questions.
Q2. What is MVC pattern?
Q3. What data structure can be used to find the most commonly used 20 words in a large corpus?
So, the questions were good but not easy. You would have to be thorough with concepts to crack it.

Round 4 - HR Interview
The HR Interview was just about the behavioral questions majorly. All sorts of expected questions were asked from me in this round. The round was also as short one. A few questions on my resume were included as well but you have nothing to worry in this round. Probably they are just checking if you are confident about yourself or not. So, you can easily go through this round.

How to crack Electronic Arts Interview

Well, basically, no one can tell you the sure shot way except the fact that if you are going to get into Electronic Arts, you must prepare hard. It won't be a miracle if you get through the written tests but to clear the technical interview, your knowledge must be thorough and extensive. They can ask you questions from anywhere. However, do focus the most on data structures as there will surely be many questions from that area.

Other than that, also prepare for the sort of unexpected questions that I have mentioned above. It won't cause much trouble if you are unable to answer something intelligent but at that place you can plant a good impression as well which will be definitely better.
