Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Interview Process

I applied for the position of Associate Software Engineer in Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) through my university. The process took only three days and then I was called for the interview in the company. The process was a five stage process as mentioned below.

Round 1 - Written Aptitude Test
The aptitude test was full of expected logical reasoning based questions. I had prepared for the interview and the all the questions were inside the box and thus easy for me to solve. If you prepare, you can easily do the test. No difficult questions were asked. They just want to test your basic reasoning skills.

Round 2 - Written Technical Test
After you clear the aptitude test, you will have to go through the technical written test. In this test, you can expect all sort of basic technical questions. Just make sure to learn all the terminologies and basics of as many terms as you can. The test was not difficult but was very diverse and you can expect questions from anywhere.

Round 3 - Group Discussion Round
This Round is sort of my favorite as only the behavioral skills and communication skills are being tested in it and I am good at that. I was surprised to see some candidates who were quite eager to speak up whether or not they sound meaningful. The key to mark your presence is speak intelligibly and confidently.

Round 4 - Technical Interview
This is the Round that will decide your fate. Even at that, I guess the foremost thing that they will test is how good you are at the basics. Even the complex coding questions they ask you might not be meant to be solved entirely by you but they will see if you know what to do or not. If you're on the right track, they might even assist you.
Q1. Design a UML diagram for inheritance.
Q2. Questions based on ACID concept.
Q3. Questions based on databases and OOPS.

Round 5 - HR Interview
The HR Interview was awesome just because the interviewer was an amazing person. She asked all sorts of questions about my studies, college projects and my scores. There were some other usual questions as well.

How to crack ( Get Into ) Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Interview

I have already mentioned each Round in brief details and you can very well get an idea about my interview at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) from that only. Overall, the difficulty level of interview was average. No need to worry for those difficult questions as they know your level and ask questions accordingly. Even if you feel something is asked beyond your level, just give it a try. May be all they need to know is how you react to the situation when you don't know what to do.

The technical interview was moderately difficult and if you are good with basics, you will find no problem. They are really nice people and it was an amazing experience for me. Hope you find the same positivity in your interview as well.

Thanks Sadaf for sharing the details of your interview.

Tough River Crossing Riddle

This one is a bit of tricky river crossing puzzle than you might have solved till now. We have a whole family out on a picnic on one side of the river. The family includes Mother and Father, two sons, two daughters, a maid and a dog. The bridge broke down and all they have is a boat that can take them towards the other side of the river. But there is a condition with the boat. It can hold just two persons at one time (count the dog as one person).

No it does not limit to that and there are other complications. The dog can’t be left without the maid or it will bite the family members. The father can’t be left with daughters without the mother and in the same manner, the mother can’t be left alone with the sons without the father. Also an adult is needed to drive the boat and it can’t drive by itself.

How will all of them reach the other side of the river?
