I have two best friends Hazard and Oscar. They are quite strange in making statements. One of them always lies on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and tells the truth on all other days of the week while the other lies on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and tells the truth on other days of the week.
Today at 5:30, they made following statements,
Hazard: I lie on Saturdays.
Oscar: I will lie tomorrow.
Hazard: I lie on Sundays.
No one lies on Sunday, so Hazard is lying. Which means today is not Sunday. Also now we know that Hazard lies today, so "Hazard: I lie on Saturdays" is also a lie. Therefore, today is not sturdy and can one of Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Now we know Oscar is telling the truth, therefore for the statement "Oscar: I will lie tomorrow." true today has to be Wednesday.
Imagine a picture in your mind. There is a rose plant. A few roses have grown up in the plant. There are a few bees hovering over them.
Now read the given statements carefully:
1) If every one of the bees lands on a rose, one of them won't get a rose.
2) If two bees share rise together, then there will be one rose left without any bee.
Can you find out the number of roses on the plant and the number of bees?
There can be myriad ways to create a palindrome. One day, I thought of making my own palindrome. I thought of a number and then decided to add the reversed number to it. Sadly, I did not get a palindrome.
So I kept repeating this step and eventually I succeeded in creating a palindrome. I don't know if you can always create a palindrome using this method but I was able to generate one of four digits.
AS you can see the picture, all you have to do is analyze it and tell who all from the pictured people will die if the person at E pushes the round object to the slide on the slope. Keep in mind all the physics and the terrain while you analyze the things.
If you notice the animated gif, you know that D, C and B are going to die. D dies directly after coming in contact with the object, C dies after being thrust by the spikes of the see-saw and B dies with the blue ball.
But consider the situation that the person at E stands for Ebola. Eventually A dies as well.
I sit on Japan's latest maglev bullet train from its first station. The train starts and is now accelerating and is about to enter the tunnel. What is the best position for me to sit, considering I am a claustrophobic guy?
A girl liked to collect money in a piggy bank. She bought pink colored piggy bank when she was 10 years old. She put $250 in the box on each of her birthday. Her younger sister took $50 out of her piggy bank on her birthday. The girl died when she was 50 years old due to an incurable disease.
When the piggy bank was opened, it had just $500. How can that be possible?
The girl was born on 29 February. Thus her birthday came once in four years only while her sister was born on a normal day and celebrated her birthday every year. Thus the girl had a chance of depositing money only 10 times in 4 years through which she collected $2500 while her sister took $50 from the piggy bank every year making the total amount to be $2000. Thus when the piggy bank was opened, it had just $500.
Suppose there is a Christmas tree and four angels are sitting on it amidst the other ornaments. Two of them have black halos and two of them have white halos. No body among them can see above their head. Angel A is sitting on the top branch and can see angels B and C sitting below him. B can see C who is sitting in a branch lower than his. Angel D is at the base of the tree and can't be seen due to the branches in between. Also, he can't see anybody as well.
If they are asked to guess the color of their own halo (they dont know that), who do you think will be able to deduce and speak up first with a right answer?
Now there can be two solutions to the given situation because there can be two situations:
Suppose if B and C have same colors, A will know that his color is the other one and he will be able to speak up the first.
Now if B and C do not have same colors, A will stay silent. This will tell B that his and C's colors are different. Thus he will speak up first.
So either A or B will speak up first depending on the situation.
Think of a person living in a disguise
The one who also deals in secrets and speaks nothing other than lies
Now think of a thing that's always the last to mend
What's the middle of the middle and also the end of the end?
Now think of the sound that you have often heard
When you were searching for a difficult-to-find word
Now if you can join them together and you can answer this
Which creature would you be reluctant to kiss?
Once there lived a king who did not allow anybody to leave the kingdom and any foreigners in his kingdom. There was only one bridge that connected his empire with the outer world. A guard who was a sharpshooter was specially assigned for a lookout on the bridge. According to the orders, anyone moving outside should be killed and anyone coming to his kingdom should be sent back. To take rest, the guard used to sit inside his hut for 5 minutes and return back on the lookout. The bridge took a minimum of 8 minutes to pass.
Even then, a woman was able to escape the kingdom without incurring any kind of harm to the guard.
The woman started walking across the bridge when the guard was inside the hut. She walked all the time he was inside (5 minutes) and then turned and moved back towards the kingdom. On approaching the kingdom he was asked for papers and since she did not have any, she was sent back.
You are given with two ropes with variable width. However if we start burning both the ropes, they will burn at exactly same time i.e. an hour. The ropes are non-homogeneous in nature. You are asked to measure 45 minutes by using these two ropes.
How can you do it?
Please note that you can’t break the rope in half as it is being clearly stated that the ropes are non-homogeneous in nature.
All you have to do is burn the first rope from both the ends and the second rope from one end only simultaneously. The first rope will burn in 30 minutes (half of an hour since we burned from both sides) while the other rope would have burnt half. At this moment, light the second rope from the other end as well. Where, the second rope would have taken half an hour more to burn completely, it will take just 15 minutes as we have lit it from the other end too.
Thus you have successfully calculated 30+15 = 45 minutes with the help of the two given ropes.
